Prevention of Spread of Seasonal Influenza in School – Advancement of CNY Holidays
In view of the latest development of seasonal influenza and to minimize the spread of influenza within schools, the Education Bureau announced that the Chinese New Year Holiday for all kindergartens would be advanced to start from Thursday, 8th February.
Regular classes are suspended, and teachers will provide relevant, age-appropriate home learning for the children over the week.
Students will not attend classes from tomorrow and will return to school on Monday, 26th February.
Panda AM/PM and Koala AM/PM classes’ field trips are also cancelled. Teachers will reschedule the field trips and inform their respective parents in the following week.
School will remain open and staff will be on duty to handle school matters and parents’ enquiries.
During the holidays, parents should note the following measures to prevent your children from being infected as far as possible:
· To maintain good personal hygiene and cover nose and mouth while sneezing or coughing and wash hands thoroughly afterwards;
· To maintain good indoor ventilation;
· To build up good body immunity by maintaining a balanced diet, exercising regularly and taking adequate rest; and
· To avoid going to crowded or poorly ventilated public places.
We will thoroughly clean and disinfect our premises including all learning materials and equipment during the holidays.
Wishing you all “Xīn Nián Kuài Lè” — Happy Chinese New Year!
